Forensic Science – The Department of Forensic Science at APGSU offers bachelor’s and master’s course which focuses on promoting research and creative activities of students and faculties. The course prepares students for a variety of positions and careers, including forensic scientist, crime scene investigator, forensic expert, and customs agent, among others. It also includes exposure to real life situations through internships and research projects included in the curriculum.
The scientific method of obtaining and interpreting knowledge about the past is known as forensic science. A fundamental skill taught in a forensics school is risk analysis, which candidates can both at their personal and professional lives. Attention to detail and critical thinking, analytical observation, and an eye for detail are some of the additional talents required of suitable aspirants for the course, and they are valuable in all aspects of life. These abilities aid pupils in problem-solving by critically analysing the numerous ramifications of a single action.
The term “forensic” is derived from the Latin phrase “before the forum.” Serology, criminalities, digital/computational, chemical and poisons, archaeology, engineering, optometry, and geology are some of the subdivisions of forensic science. The course teaches aspirants how to recognise risky scenarios where a crime could occur, such as cyber security, and how to avoid digital attacks before they occur. Handwriting analysis can also be utilised in marriage counselling and to assist people in deciding on a professional route.
Law experts, forensic experts, forensic scientists, laboratories in charge, cyber forensic experts, Forensic Psychiatrists, crime scene investigators, crime scene analysts, custom agents and other positions are available to Master of Science in Forensic Science graduates.
