The Department of Medical Lab Technology at APGSU offers bachelor’s course which focuses on making trained individuals who would make significant contribution and aid in supporting diagnosis by the doctors. We offer thorough classroom teaching blended with practical exposure followed by hospital internship and professional training in last one year of the course. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a branch of science that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases using clinical laboratory tests. This involves analysis of the body fluids, including tissues and blood. Medical Laboratory Technologists perform most of their tasks such as the preparation of slides human tissues or other specimens, using laboratory equipment. They also carry out tasks such as blood tests and blood typing. Medical Laboratory Technicians can attain employment in pathology labs, urology labs, blood banks, research labs, haematology, cytotechnology, immunology, microbiology, pharmaceuticals, forensic labs and hospitals. They can also pursue a career in the education line as a lecturer or teacher.
