Overview
Course Overview:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry is an undergraduate programme. As per New Education Policy (NEP), students can exit after one year with Certificate, two years with Diploma, three years with B.Sc. Chemistry degree and four years with B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry degree.
- Candidates must have Chemistry, Physics, Biology or/and Maths as their main subjects in 10+2 or equivalent programme to become eligible for the course.Â
- The course is divided into semesters with semester examinations after every six months. The examination is based on the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS).
- The syllabus includes General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Basic Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.Â
Career Opportunities
- After the completion of course, the students can be employed in the areas like Educational Institutions, Chemical Laboratories, DRDOs and Defense, Cosmetics & Perfume Industry, Health Care/Pharmaceutical Industry, Agrochemical Industry etc.
- The students can opt for careers as Lab Assistants, Chemists, Industrial Research Scientist, Clinical Research Specialist, Pharma Assistants, Quality Controller, Chemical Engineering Associate, Scientific Data Entry Specialist etc.
- The students can also pursue higher studies such as MSc Chemistry, MSc Forensic Science.

Eligibility Criteria
For National Students - Matriculation with-50% marks
- Sr. Secondary (10+2) 50% marks aggregate with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology.
For International Students To be considered for admission into any program as an international applicant, you must have achieved a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination and have studied the required subjects necessary for admission into your desired program.

Scholarships for the students for the session 2023-2024
- According to the percentage obtained by the students in Board Examination viz.
- Above 90% — 25% in the semester fees.
- Above 80% — 20% in the semester fees.
- Above 70% — 15% in the semester fees.
- Above 65% — 10% in the semester fees.
- Girls students of H.P. 25% in the semester fees.
- Ward of Army/Ex-serviceman/ Martyrs/War Widows- 15% in the semester fees.
- Wards of University employees- 25% in the semester fees.
- Differently abled child -50% in the semester fees.
- International / National Level Player in any sports – 25% in the semester fees.
- State-level player – 15% in the semester fees.
- Existing students from UG course to PG course – 25% in the first semester.
- Existing Students scoring A Grade & above – 5% in semester fee on each semester performance
- HP/Other States Govt. Scholarships – As per Govt. Policy for SC/ST.
