Overview

Diploma in Theatre typically cover core elements like acting, directing and production design. The Diploma in Theatre Arts gives exposure towards the various theatre activities including both on stage and off stage and makes them understand about individual and collaborative intelligence required to become a successful Theatre Artist.

The course is designed to create artists by providing training, theatre practices, venue etc for working in different Medias like film, radio, television etc. The course starts with introductory sessions about the theatre. Candidates learn about stage technology, Basics of performances, Play Analysis, theatre workshops, etc. The course also includes study about scene design, lighting design, costume design, theatrical makeup, etc.

A part of course teaches about history of Theatre, famous theatre artist, famous plays and various landmarks from the history and advancements of theatre arts. The course also includes some projects and seminars and candidates are allowed to choose some elective subjects as per their interest.

Career Prospects

These candidates are suitable for working in the film industry, art galleries, theatres, museums and Indian Classical dance and art centers. They can become a film director, creative moment specialist, theatre artist, Actor/ Actress,Teacher etc. as per their skills and interest. Also, the students have further study options. After completion of this course, if a candidate is willing to pursue higher studies he or she can go for a short term course related to Acting/ direction/ Dramatic Arts/ Screenwriting and any other related field. Certification, Diploma and advanced diploma level courses are available in all these fields.
